We are a team driven by a vision of the Himalayas where the environment and animals are protected alongside the well-being of local communities and travellers.
Founder
Aparajita Goswami
Aparajita is a researcher passionate about protecting the environment and natural resources. She holds a PhD in International Relations specializing in peace and conflict studies. Her academic journey has been guided by her interest in ethnic conflicts and peacebuilding.
Her work in the Himalayas focuses on researching environmental challenges in Ladakh and developing projects to address the growing waste crisis. She believes in the power of community-driven solutions, traditional knowledge, and youth leadership to create lasting change.
Her wider research interests include waste colonialism and impacts of animal agriculture. She is vegan and passionate about protecting animals. She enjoys yoga and vegan baking.
Co-founder
Mipham Jigmet
Mipham is a hands-on person and a technical problem-solver. He holds a Master’s in Environmental Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a Bachelor’s in Aeronautical Engineering.
Originally aspiring to become a pilot, his academic journey took a turn during the pandemic when he became acutely aware of the waste issues in his region. It motivated him to shift his focus toward environmental studies.
His areas of interest include solid waste, wastewater and sewage. He is involved in the wider environmental issues in Ladakh, such as groundwater contamination. His interest also extends to drone technology, and he is a DGCA-certified drone pilot.

Fariha Fatima
Fariha is passionate about sustainability, particularly in the realms of fashion and creating natural, homemade products that encourage eco-friendly living. She holds a Master’s in International Business and a Master’s in English.
Her mission is to inspire others to buy less, discard less, and engage in sharing, swapping, borrowing, and lending, all aimed at reducing waste and honouring our precious resources.
She firmly believes that small, intentional actions can spark significant change, and she dedicates herself to empowering individuals and communities to embrace sustainable choices in their daily lives.

Dawa Takspa Vimalacitta
Vimalacitta is a nature lover and passionate about feeding and caring for stray animals. He holds a Bachelor’s in Buddhist Studies from Myanmar.
He is a member of the Buddhist monastic community and is involved in managing meditation retreats and other social service activities.
He has a compassionate approach to life, understanding the interconnectedness of all sentient beings. Hailing from beautiful Kargil region in Ladakh, he enjoys exploring nature through outdoor activities like hiking and camping in the mountains.
